The Power of Gratitude in Advance

Today when I dropped my daughter India off at kindergarten, before we got out of the car me sat for a moment to hear the end of a fun song. We were singing and dancing and just feeling wonderful. When I turned off the radio she said in her cute little 4 year old voice “That was beautiful, mom” and my heart felt utter gratitude for such a lovely moment.

Later in the day, while working on my writing I decided to take a look at the old notes saved on my computer and came across this one, written on November 15th, 2016, just a little less than a year ago:

“I’m fascinated by that state of gratitude and appreciation for something you don’t have yet. I imagine myself driving around in my car blasting the radio and singing at the top of my lungs Katy Perry and Justin Bieber songs. The thing I will like the most is to pick up India at kindergarten and have her feel nice and warm and cuddly in my car. I want her to feel super good when I drop her off every morning, feel really loved and safe as she arrives at school. "Today is going to be a great day! I love my family! I am very special and kind and smart." I will feel so grateful to be able to provide for her and take care of her. Maybe I will go to kindergarten with them once a month too.  I will be able to talk to the teachers all the time and have a great relationship with them. India will be so proud of her mom’s car. She will get to play on the playground when she wants too. I will be so happy to take her for drives and play dates but especial for walks together to the lake and take our roller and skate board. I will feel great going to the gym and having perfect timing for everything. It will be so awesome to go grocery shopping for everything that important and bring home all the bacon :D thank you, thank you god for making me able to give these things to my daughter. Thank you god thank for these moments when we sing together. Thank you god thank you for letting me know I can believe in myself thank you god for everything. I’m so blessed and I didn’t know this was possible. Thank you god for all the tests I have overcome and the patterns i have transformed. Thank you for the life you gave me and the self-trust you gave me thank you for all the time I get to spend with her. Thank you so much for the clarity to want to work for her. Provide for her and laugh with her. Thank you India for picking me as your mom thank you India for showing me I am strong thank you for coming into my life.”

I had completely forgotten writing this and needless to say I was a little blown away. Just a few weeks after we found our car, my first car in Germany since moving here a few years ago. The thing that touches me the most about this note which I wrote in order to “manifest” a car is that the car itself was not the most important aspect, it was the singing together, the feeling of being safe and cozy, the experience. This is what is essential to me when trying to employ the law of attraction deliberately.

We could have gotten a much more expensive and fancier car, but none of it would have been worth it if the joyful singing and togetherness feeling did not come along with it. That was the true purpose of the car, not to simply be a static material object but to serve as a stage for an experience. And seeing that scene in my mind made it disgustingly easy to feel that all important essential tool of manifestation which cannot be forgotten: Gratitude in Advance.

So just remember to keep this in mind the next time you want to manifest something, it’s a feeling process. It’s not just about the words or the dry visualization of a scene, it is about the inner spirit of it, what gives it life and breathe into it the sense of joy and wonderment and passion. Why do you want it? What will that feel like? If you can feel it in the present moment without having the object in your hand, you can be sure that it is on its way to you.

One last thing… don’t forget to look back once in a while and remember that you have already manifested a million things into your life, sometimes without even having a set or conscious process. This is just life. So don’t forget you are powerful. And keep cultivating your feeling muscles.

Till next time,
LL
